Velantra started a year and a half ago with a simple idea between a son and his mom: professional women deserve structured, heritage-quality bags without the four-figure markup. She's still our ideal customer — and our toughest critic — to this day.
Our first bag sold out almost immediately. Then came the Boat Tote, our summer workhorse. Now the Straw Tote — hand-woven seagrass, made in limited batches — has become the bag strangers stop people on the street to ask about.
Along the way we carved out a niche we love: coastal quiet luxury. Every bag is designed in California, refined obsessively, and built to last decades, not seasons.
